The new store is located inside the Kickapoo Travel Plaza at 25200 East Highway 62 in Harrah and offers unique Native American designs by Native owned companies as well as items created by Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma Tribal Members.
The store is located next to Kickapoo Casino Harrah, where many patrons utilize the Kickapoo Travel Plaza for their convenient store needs. Patrons will now enjoy another aspect of Kickapoo Tribe with the brand-new store.
“The idea of Kickapoo Trading Company is to provide our tribal and local community with a resource for cultural items, as well as economic opportunity. Kickapoo Trading Company gives our tribal members a place to commission their traditional handmade items, which in turn serves as a “one-stop shop” for when cultural items are in need,” said Darwin Kaskaske, Chairman of the Tribe. “This new venture brings the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma one step closer to being self-sufficient by diversifying the tribe’s business portfolio.”

Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma is thrilled to announce a special book signing event with the esteemed Native American comic book writer, Arigon Starr. The event will take place on Wednesday, July 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering fans and newcomers alike the opportunity to meet the acclaimed artist and author.
Arigon Starr, a proud member of the Kickapoo Tribe, has made significant contributions to the world of comics and beyond. Her dynamic comic artwork has been featured in renowned publications such as “The Nib” and “Oklahoma Today.” Starr's talents in writing, editing, and artwork shine through in works like “Tales of the Mighty Code Talkers” and the comics for Colorful Colorado’s History Project.
One of her notable projects includes the artwork for “Contenders: Two Native Americans, One World Series,” a compelling story penned by Cherokee author Traci Sorell and published by Kokila Books, an imprint of Penguin/Random House.
Arigon Starr's artwork has garnered recognition and has been exhibited at prestigious venues including the Heard Museum, National Museum of the American Indian (New York), Philbrook Museum, First Americans Museum, and the Oklahoma Contemporary.
Beyond her achievements in the comic book industry, Starr is an award-winning singer, songwriter, musician, actor, and playwright, showcasing her versatile talent and passion for the arts. She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
The book signing event at Kickapoo Trading Co. will be a unique chance to celebrate Starr’s contributions to Native American storytelling and visual art. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase her works and have them personally signed by the author.
